QUETTA: Medical students had announced that they would stage protest rallies across Balochistan on Tuesday and in Karachi a few days later to urge for their demands to be fulfilled.
As per the sources, the medical students stated they had been demonstrating for 57 days but had not received approval for their requests despite pledges and promises. They claimed that the Chief Secretary, Balochistan and officials from the Department of Health, Balochistan had informed them that their demands would be fulfilled.
They enlightened that The Secretary, Department of Health, Balochistan, had pledged to contact officials of Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) to fix the difficulties, but he never did.
Medical students reportedly protested the PMC's conduct of special tests for registration at three medical institutions, an act that the commission supposedly does not have jurisdiction over.
Additionally, they urged an overhaul of government hospitals' facilities and the distribution of treatment and medications to patients.
