Paramedical staff stages a protest rally and sit in

KARACHI- Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (PPMSA) Sindh Chapter organized a protest rally and stage sit-in favor of their demands. The protest rally was started from Civil Hospital Karachi and culminated at Karachi Press Club. A large number of paramedic staff of different districts like Hyderabad, Sukkur, Umer Kot, Badin, Jamshoro, Larkana and Mirpurkhas participated in the rally and stage sit-in.

The protesters were carrying banners and inscribed with different slogans like; implement on service structure & health allowance, son quota for employees, stop privatization of public hospital, end anti-public policies in healthcare and injustice with paramedical staff not acceptable.

The speakers while addressing the media person said paramedical staff has been deprived from service structure of paramedic, health allowance, causality allowance, time-scale, risk allowance and others rights. They said paramedical staff of federal and other provinces paramedical staff has been receiving all allowances, but unfortunately Sindh’s paramedics have been deprived from these allowances.

President, PPMSA, Sindh Niaz Hussain Bhutto, while addressing the protesters said provincial government was also not implementing on son quota in the province as significant number cases have been lying pending. He said implementing on son quota is the responsibility Sindh government.  He said paramedics have compelled to stage protest and sit-in in order to convey their message to provisional authorities.

He also demanded for health allowance, high-risk allowance, rural incentive allowance for the paramedics of Sindh on the pattern of the federal and three provinces. He said doctors and nursing staff of health department Sindh have been receiving health, hard work, causality, rural and non-practice allowances but only paramedical staff have been deprived from their rights in the province.

The office-bearers of Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (PPMSA) Sindh & Karachi like; Aijaz Kakepoto, Sharif Palari, Nazeer Abbasi, Shahid Sabri, Mir Murtaza, Allah Dino, Raja Rafiq Panwar, Iftikhar Ahmed and others also attended the rally.
