MULTAN: Three men working at the Bahauddin Zakariya Railway Train assaulted a woman travelling from Multan to Karachi on May 27th, 2022.

According to sources, a woman belonging to Orangi Town, Karachi, was travelling to Muzaffargarh to visit her children.

In the First Information Report made by the victim, she had been given a divorce by her husband recently and had gone to Muzaffargarh, where her in-laws resided, to meet her children.

She was to reach there on May 26th and head back on the 28th. As claimed by the victim, she had boarded the Bhauddin Zakariya Train to Karachi, where the incident took place.

During her journey, as the train reached Rohri, she met with the ticket checker, Zahid, who offered to shift her to a cabin that provided air conditioning facilities. The ticket–checker, mentioned that he would introduce her to the in-charge, Aqib.

The two train personnel shifted the victim to her new compartment. However, Zahid returned shortly and assaulted her after.

In the victim’s continuous struggle to escape, Zahid raped the victim. Later on, Aqib also entered the apartment and raped her. He was followed by another ticket-checker that remains unnamed so far, who also raped the victim.

The case has been taken on by the Karachi City Station Police against the three suspects.

Police investigation continues on the issue.
