Houses Set on Fire in Sukkur, Sindh over Honour

A group of armed men stormed and destroyed at least ten houses in the village of Sham Kaladi near Rohri in retaliation for the purported kidnapping of a Chauhan woman and her sister.
A four-year-old child was killed as a result of the incident.

According to local newspapers, the woman sought to get into a marriage of her own free will with a Panhwar village kid.

As she left her home with her sister, the victim's relatives reported that Panhwar men had kidnapped the two women to the community's elders.

In response to the turmoil caused by the occurrence, a gang of irate men attacked and plundered the homes of the Panhwar community while using overhead fire.
More than ten homes were burned down.

Members of the Panhwar community in Sindh asserted that the perpetrators were members of the Chauhan community.

They complained to authorities at the Dubar police station that members of the Chauhan community went on a rampage against their homes.

According to them, the attackers harassed residents of Panhwars' neighbourhood by firing heavily into the air before ransacking and torching numerous homes.

The police hurried to the village but discovered that the perpetrators had already fled.

In the meantime, the body of a four-year-old child was recovered from a residence that had caught fire.
