The MoUs were signed at the KU Vice Chancellor Secretariat. The KU and the Center for Autism Rehabilitation and Training inked the MoU to provide professional rehabilitation facilities to children/individuals with Autism/Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), train professionals in rehabilitation programmes designed for ASD, develop and execute a vocational programme for children/individuals with ASD, and to work for ASD awareness among the masses.
On behalf of the Center for Autism Rehabilitation and Training, Dr Syed Mohsin Idrees and Dr Nasira Khatoon, the acting vice chancellor of the varsity Professor, inked the MoU documents.
Meanwhile, another MoU was signed with Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) to use sports to fight for the rights and abilities of people with intellectual disabilities. According to the MoU, SOP will provide volunteer and internship opportunities for the psychology department students. The SOP will share the upcoming internship/volunteer opportunity with the campus.
Ronak Iqbal Lakhani, the Chairperson, SOP, and Professor Dr Nasira Khatoon, the varsity’s acting vice-chancellor, inked the MoU documents. On the other hand, the third MoU was signed with the Karwan-e-Hayat Institute for Mental Health Care for collaboration and joint ventures in research and training.
According to the MoU, KU and Karwan-e-Hayat Institute for Mental Health Care would arrange joint research and educational projects and programmes and hold joint seminars and conferences besides students’ job referrals and internship programmes as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and placement of experts on the department’s advisory board.
The KU acting VC Professor Dr Nasira Khatoon and the Chief Executive Officer Karwan-e-Hayat Institute for Mental Health Care Zaheeruddin Ahmad signed the MoU documents.
