World Leprosy Day does not only symbolizes feelings of togetherness and love for the patients affected by leprosy but also provides an opportunity to spread awareness and renew commitment to create a leprosy free world.

Even today, Leprosy is said to be controlled but not eliminated from our country. Continuous efforts are required to eradicate this menace from Pakistan; said Dr M.Usman Chachar, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Department, Sindh.
HE Engr Eugen Wollfarth, Consul General of Germany and Mervyn F. Lobo, CEO MALC also expressed their views on this occasion by calling Dr Ruth Pfau a visionary, whose name will be remembered for ever. She devoted her entire life for the treatment and rehabilitation of patients suffering from Leprosy. Now, her team is working with the same zealous commitment.
Furthermore, they added that all sectors have to work together as a team to achieve the goal of social inclusion of people suffering from disabilities.
The Government of Sindh offered complete support to MALC in its Leprosy Control Program, which is working towards creating public awareness, in hopes of minimizing the burden of this disease,
To date, the Pakistani Nation appreciates the commitment and selflessness of Dr Ruth Pfau towards serving Leprosy patients.
