Anti-Encroachment Drive at CHK; 20 Illegal Structures Demolished

KARACHI- With the collaboration of District South Administration and Law Enforcement Agencies, Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi ’s (CHK) management have completely destroyed the illegal structures present on the residential quarters including sunshades, walls and quarters within the premises of CHK.

This took place during the second phase of Anti-Encroachment drive, which was initiated with the help of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation ’s (KMC) Anti-Encroachment team, Assistant Commissioner, Law Enforcement Agencies and Security officials of the hospital.

Around 20 to 22 illegal structures have been removed during the anti-encroachment campaign at Dhobi Ghat area, opposite Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Trauma Centre.

Medical Superintendent, CHK, Dr Sabir Memon, informed that the anti-encroachment drive has been launched in CHK, in light of which all the unauthorized occupants have been directed to move out from the premises of the health facility otherwise; teams will have to demolish the illegal structures.

Residents of quarters and employees of the hospital staged protest demonstrations against the Federal Government, hospital administration and other departments for launching this drive. However, no unforeseen situation was reported.

Earlier, the unauthorized occupants vacated 13 quarters of Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) during the month of November 2018, at the initiation of first phase of the anti-encroachment drive.
