Aman Foundation receives grant from Japan for more ambulances.

Karachi: 26th August, 2014 - The Government of Japan has recently extended a grant of US$ 120,120 (approx. PKR 13 million) to the Aman Health Care Services. This grant has been extended by the Government of Japan, under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) scheme, with further contribution by Toyota Indus Motors of PKR 1.2 million. The donated funds have enabled AMANAMBULANCE service to add two new “Advanced Life Support” (ALS) ambulances to its existing fleet of more than 80 ambulances. These new life-saving vehicles will be deployed in Bin Qasim town, Karachi.

A special Handover ceremony was recently held at the Aman Foundation premises in Karachi, where the Japanese Counsel General personally donated these new ambulances to Aman Foundation. The ceremony was addressed by: the Consul-General of Japan in Karachi - Mr. Akira Ouchi, Chief Executive Officer of Aman Health Care Services - Dr. Junaid Abdul Razzak and CEO (Toyota) Indus Motor Co. Ltd. – Mr. Parvez Ghias. 

The grant contract was made official and signed in August 2014, between the Consul-General of Japan and the CEO of Aman Health Care Services, to further strengthen friendly relations between Japan and Pakistan.  

Aman Foundation is a leading humanitarian organization, established in Pakistan to provide Healthcare, Nutrition and Education to the underserved segments of the population. AMAN AMBULANCE is one of the many business initiatives, which has redefined ambulatory care in Pakistan. AMANAMBULANCE was launched in 2010 and today it operates a fleet of 80 state-of-the-art ambulances. The vehicles are equipped with lifesaving equipment and trained doctors and paramedics on board, to provide care en-route during critical emergencies. The fleet serves all the parts of Karachi city. To-date, it has conducted approximately 600,000 interventions. 

The Aman Foundation is born out of the belief that Pakistanis must take the lead in solving Pakistan’s problems, through direct intervention and aspiring to drive scalable, sustainable and systematic change in Pakistan. Aman’s initiatives also include; community-based workers bringing health-information to the homes, a 26-seat call center providing 24/7 medical advice over the phone and an upcoming network of primary care clinics across Karachi.

Aman has established Pakistan’s largest vocational training institute with a capacity of 5,000 students and offers certification from City & Guilds UK. At underprivileged schools Aman provides nutritious meals and essential sports curricula, coaching and equipment. Global programs such as Teach For All and Junior Achievement have been launched in Pakistan, as “Teach For Pakistan” and “INJAZ Pakistan” respectively.
Aman Foundation has partnered with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Real Madrid Foundation, the British Asian Trust (A Prince Charles charity) and other International organizations, to apply global expertise to solve local problems.
