SHCC Organises Training Session for General Practitioners

KARACHI: The Directorate of Clinical Governance and Training Sindh Healthcare Commission had recently conducted training sessions for general practitioners.

134 doctors attended training in Karachi, and 80 attended in the Hyderabad division. The standards set for clinics were discussed, and queries on implementation were resolved to facilitate the clinics in improving their quality of service delivery.

Training included infection prevention, especially the correct disposal of syringes, needles and other infected clinic wastes. The need to maintain clinic records, write prescriptions as per standard and rational prescribe medicines, especially antimicrobials, was emphasized.

As per standards, health facility owners should keep facility infrastructure in reasonable condition with maintenance and cleanliness. The Sindh Healthcare Commission is providing a one-time free session on the standards to all registered healthcare facilities, which would help understand the application of standards.
