PMDC NOC to be a must for students seeking medical education abroad

ISLAMABAD: To save local medical students from falling victim to substandard foreign universities, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to make it binding for them to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) before getting admission abroad.

Officials from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) have reported that approximately 3,000 Pakistani students seek medical education overseas each year, with women constituting 30 percent of this number.

"Most Pakistani students opt for China as their primary destination for medical studies, followed by Central Asian states and Afghanistan," stated a PMDC representative.

Efforts are being intensified to safeguard Pakistani students from enrolling in substandard international universities, according to the officials.
