FPCCI chief highlights importance of nursing profession

KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (FPCCI) president Rauf Aalam said here that imparting quality education and training to nurses was essential for the survival and well-being of the human beings.

He was speaking at a ceremony held to introduce nursing degree programme at Kharadar General Hospital’s (KGH) Marie Rahima Dawood College of Nursing. The simple but impressive ceremony was addressed, among others, by the hospital’s chairman and renowned paediatrician Prof Dr Ghaffar Billoo, president and leading businessman Muhammad Bashir Jan Muhammad and prominent social worker Bilquis Edhi.

Highlighting the importance of nursing profession, the FPCCI chief said that providing quality education and training to nurses was a great service to the humanity.

The chief executive of the hospital on this occasion informed the audience that it was because of Kharadar School of Nursing’s high academic and administrative environment that the Dow University of Health Sciences and Pakistan Nursing Council have permitted the School to introduce RN BSAC (N) programme.

Principal of Kharadar School of Nursing Talat Shah felicitated all the faculty members, administration and president of the hospital for being honoured with the introducing RN BSAC (N) programme at the School, saying “our degree programme will be of high standard and its fee structure will be student-friendly.”

On this occasion, Mr Rauf Aalam and Mrs Bilquis Edhi inaugurated extended block of the hospital’s emergency department.

Later, awards were given to the KGH’s medical and nursing faculty in recognition of their meritorious services.
