BAHAWALPUR: Department of Pharmacy Practice, Islamia University Bahawalpur, organised a one-day seminar on Pharmacy Education and Practice in Pakistan.

The symposium was chaired by Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean Faculty of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. Prof Dr Furqan from Punjab University Lahore and Prof Dr Azhar Hussain, Director Hamdard University, Islamabad Campus, spoke on government institutions related to pharmacy education and profession, drug-related laws, drug testing laboratories and public and private hospitals and community pharmacies.
Dr Muhammad Atif, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Director, Research, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, said that the participation of experts from the Pharmacy Council and Pharmacists Association in the symposium would be constructive for teachers and students in understanding the role of Pharmacy in Pakistan.
The participants emphasised that the education, training and skills of pharmacy in Pakistan should be in line with international standards so that the workforce in this field can perform internationally.
