Health dept urges to get pharmacies registered

KARACHI: Sindh Health Department instructed the Director General Health, Medical Superintendent and heads of hospitals to register medical stores/pharmacies of health facilities under Sindh Drug Rules 1979.   

The decision has taken after a meeting held on 28 June 2022 in which Director General Audit Sindh Karachi objected to the irregular purchase of medicines without drug test laboratory report and subsequent discussion on the same there under which disclosed that medical stores/pharmacies of all the hospitals/institutions/offices are unregistered which required to be registered under rule-22 of Sindh Drug Rules 1979, within two months for compliance under intimation to this department for the perusal of the competent authority. 

In this regard, Director General Health Services Sindh, Director Health Services, Executive Directors, Directors, medical superintendents and others to get medical stores and pharmacies registered within two months to control the irregular purchase of drugs.
