Free eye surgery camp by OGDCL, Al-Shifa Hospital

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), in adherence to its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, recently conducted a three-day Free Surgical Eye Camp at its CSR Dispensary in Chak Naurang, Chakwal district.

This collaborative effort involved the Al-Shifa Eye Trust Hospital and aimed to provide essential eye care services to the local community.

The free eye camp screened 1,290 patients at the Outpatient Department (OPD), offering crucial preliminary assessments. Out of the screened individuals, 762 were provided with vision glasses, and 40 received post-operation dark glasses. Special glasses for specific visual needs were distributed to 285 patients, while 55 others underwent Lab/Covid-19 tests during the camp.

In addition to the screening services, a total of 40 eye surgeries were performed during the camp, contributing to the long-term improvement of patients' eye health. The patients who availed themselves of these services expressed satisfaction with the overall process at the eye camp.

Under its CSR program, OGDCL covered all expenses incurred during the three-day camp, including laser/phaco surgery, provision of vision glasses, and medicines.

The company reiterated its commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of communities in and around its operational areas. Through its CSR initiatives, OGDCL aims to make a positive impact on the lives of residents and contribute to the overall prosperity of the regions it serves.

The executive director (HR/Admin) and general manager (CSR) of OGDCL visited the campsite, interacting with the staff, patients, and other community members.

The local community thanked OGDCL for providing essential eye care facilities at their doorstep.
