46 million females aborted in India

INDIA: Over the previous 50 years, an estimated 46 million foetuses had been aborted in India solely because they would have been born female.

According to the international media organisation, which spoke to women in the country about their horrific experiences with the widespread practice, sex-selective abortions and female infanticides are used to ensure that more males are born than daughters. A mother of two girls was instructed she needed to take an abortion pill to end her pregnancy with her third child. She went to prenatal sex determination when she was three months pregnant.

According to media reports, she stated that she began to feel as if she was suffocating when she discovered it was a girl. She didn't stop bleeding for eight hours after consuming the pill. She went on to say that families would go to any length to have a son. She claimed that if she dies, her husband will remarry the following day in the hope of having a son with the next woman.
