SIUT establishes theater complex in Sukkur

 

KARACHI: As part of its policy to augment and enhance areas of medical facilities by providing free treatment with dignity and compassion in the remote parts of Sindh, the Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT) has established a new operation theater complex at its Chhablani Medical Centre in Sukkur.

The state of the art operation theatre, a full-fledged equipped facility, was recently inaugurated. The theatre complex is being set up to meet all the needs of surgical activities including transplants. The establishment of this new complex is a generous philanthropic donation by the Feroza Hashem Trust who is known for extending such charitable activities in the past also.

The SIUT Chhablani Centre Sukkur was established in 2009 as a part of the phased program. The 50 bedded facility admitted over 3000 patients in the previous year and attended to 34000 patients at its out patient's department (OPD) in the same period. The patients treated were from the fields of urology, nephrology, pediatrics, and hepato-gastroenterology. A significant number of minor and major surgeries were also performed.

The center also provides dialysis, pathology, and radiology facilities.
