MUZAFFARABAD: Six female voters, traveling through a jeep to cast their votes during the local government elections, die in a jeep accident.
According to media reports, the jeep, carrying the female voters, skidded off the road and fell into a 30 feet deep ravine, injuring the drivers and several women, whereas six of the voters lost their lives in the accident.
The women were residents of Thanda Pani village, traveling for the first phase of the local government elections that were being held after 31 years in three separate districts of Muzaffarabad.
The injured persons have since, been shifted to the hospital after a rescue operation by the police.
