Karachi: Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh Hajji Muzaffar Ali Shujra on Wednesday said that the shortage of medicines and staff in public hospitals would soon be overcome.
He shared these views while addressing the media during his visit to the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).
Muzaffar Shujra visited different wards of NICH and enquired about problems being faced by patients, supporting staff and doctors. He said that the aim of the visit to the hospital was to get information about problems being faced by hospital administration in running healthcare affairs and also to bring improvement in healthcare delivery system.
He said that the hospital administration must inform the provincial government about all its requirements as the government would ensure timely provision of the healthcare needs. He said that all genuine demands of public hospitals will be resolved and fulfilled on priority basis by the government.
He warned the politically backed employees of public hospitals to perform their duties honestly otherwise strict action would be taken against them. He said shortage of staff and medicines would be overcome soon.
Executive Director, National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Prof Jamal Raza, senior doctors and paramedical staff were also present on this occasion. Later, Coordinator to Chief Minister Sindh Hajji Muzaffar Ali Shujra also paid visit to JPMC.
