KARACHI - Health Department Sindh is organizing a three-day Sindh Health and Nutrition Festival in Tharparkar district of Sindh province, sources at department told the media recently.
The provincial health department on the directive of Chief Minister Sindh -Syed Qaim Ali Shah is organizing the three-day Sindh Health and Nutrition Festival first time in the history of the province where awareness stalls about health and nutrition will be set up for general public. The festival will start from 8th April and continue till 10th April 2015.
The experts will provide information to general public about health, nutrition and family planning, while immunisation and vaccination of children would also be done during the event. The traditional culture of Tharparkar including music, handicraft, food and natural beauty of area will also be highlighted in the event.
The various international health organization including World Health Organization, USAID, UNICIEF, Department for International Development (DFID) and other government and non-governmental organizations are also coordinating with health department for this event.
Secretary Health Sindh Iftikhar Shalwani said; health department in collaboration with international health organizations is organizing the three-day Sindh Health and Nutrition Festival in next month. The main focus of the festival is to promote healthy activities in the area through awareness programs and sessions.
