Rural Hospitals in Sindh being handed over to leading private hospitals

Provincial Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Environment and Coastal Development and Head of Sindh Health Advisory Board – Dr. Sikander Ali Mandhro has stated that; Finally, consensus has been reached to handover the administrative affairs of District Hospital Badin to the Indus Hospital Organization.

He shared these views while chairing a high-level meeting at his office Sindh Assembly Building. Chief Executive Officer Indus Hospital Karachi - Dr Abdul Bari Khan and officials of health department were also present in the meeting.

He said; A proposed draft of agreement has been given to the two parties for final review. He informed that the final consensus to give the administrative affairs of Taluka Headquarter Hospital Tando Bago and Taluka Headquarter Hospital Mirpur Sakro to the Aga Khan Hospital is also being finalized.

After this, the administrative affairs of three hospitals will be formally handed over to private sector healthcare institutions and the agreements will be signed soon, he explained.

Dr Mandhro said: A plan has been devised to provide latest and quality medical facilities to general public at the rural local government hospitals in the province in coordination with the well-reputed private institutions.

He said: provincial authorities will monitor the performance of these institutions to check how much improvement has been achieved in these hospitals, after handing over the administrative affairs to private hospitals.

He informed that the provincial government is seriously considering the construction of residential apartments for doctor and professors near District Hospital Badin.
