One new polio case emerges in Sindh, taking this year's total to 18.

A new polio case has surfaced in Sindh recently, increasing the current year's total of Polio victims to three. The latest victim of this crippling disease was reported from Sukker city, the third such case recorded in Sindh and 18th in the country during this year. According to the health officials; Polio infection has been reported in 18-month old Uzair - son of Qullo in Sukker.


Earlier, two cases were reported from Kamber and Dadu districts in Sindh, respectively.


The health officials said that the government and heath authorities were making all out efforts, including polio immunization campaigns to vaccinate the children with anti-polio vaccine, to save them from lifetime disability.


In 2014, the number of polio cases recorded in Pakistan were 306, out of those 30 victims were detected in the Sindh province.
