ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi underscored the importance of adopting preventive measures against various diseases to mitigate the need for expensive treatments and lessen the burden on the country’s healthcare system.
He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) at Aiwan-e-Sadr, where they presented a report detailing the organization's activities and achievements.
During the meeting, the president emphasized the necessity of raising awareness among the public about preventive measures against non-communicable diseases and heart ailments, highlighting the role of the media, local communities, mosques, and non-governmental organizations in disseminating such awareness.
President Alvi also called for the utilization of various contemporary platforms to spread awareness messages effectively.
PANAH President Maj Gen (Retd) Masud Ur Rehman Kiani briefed Dr Alvi on the organization's initiatives, including public awareness campaigns such as walks, seminars, lectures, and training sessions aimed at promoting healthy activities and lifestyle.
President Alvi commended PANAH for its contributions to the healthcare sector and its efforts in promoting public health awareness.
