KARACHI: The TDAP headquarters recently hosted two sectoral council meetings focusing on the pharmaceuticals and chemicals industries.
Established under the Strategic Trade Policy Framework (STPF) 2022-25, these councils aim to address key issues and boost export-oriented sectors.
The meetings, chaired by Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, were attended by senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, DRAP, and Pakistan Customs. Saeed Mangnejo, Special Secretary for Commerce; Zubair Motiwala, Chief Executive of TDAP; Muhammad Ashraf, Executive Director General of the Ministry of Commerce; Azhar Ali Dahar, Director General of the Engineering & Minerals Division; Zulfiqar Ali Langah, Director of the Engineering & Minerals Division; and Muhammad Yousuf, Assistant Manager and Secretary for the Sectoral Council also attended the meeting.
The meetings focused on strategies to enhance exports and address critical challenges facing the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics sectors.
Mr Kamal assured the participants that their feedback would be integrated into the National Export Policy Board’s agenda, aligning with the prime minister’s vision for Pakistan.
The meetings concluded with a commitment to addressing the identified challenges and developing actionable strategies to enhance Pakistan’s export potential.
Follow-up meetings will be scheduled in Islamabad at commerce ministry to refine the export policy based on sector-specific recommendations.
