Chakwal : The ground breaking ceremony was recently held for a fully-equipped medical unit at Kallar Kahar by Lafarge Pakistan Cement Ltd. The Ambassador of France in Pakistan - Mr. Philippe Thiebaud graced the ceremony along with the Minister for Housing and Public Health Engineering C&W - Malik Tanveer Aslam Awan. Administrative officials of the District of Chakwal, including DPO, DCO and AC Chakwal were also present on the occasion.
Amr Reda - Country Chief Executive Officer of Lafarge Limited said; "The medical unit aims to provide best healthcare treatment in the area to the local villagers and surrounding villages within District Chakwal. The district currently lacks a decent level of healthcare facility and the local citizens have to travel miles to avail medical services. This medical facility and parking complex is a testimony of our growing commitment to Pakistan and the local community we operate in."
The fully equipped medical unit sponsored by Lafarge Pakistan is spread over an area of 165X126 sqft. The Lafarge medical unit houses separate wards for females and males with specialised medical assistance for gynaecology patients. Furthermore, the medical unit will provide 24X7 emergency services as well as a laboratory for tests. Malik Tanveer Aslam Awan said, "On behalf of the Government of Punjab, I comment this private initiative to serve the local community.
