IUB celebrates World Pharmacists Day

BAHAWALPUR: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Faculty of Pharmacy recently held a special event to mark World Pharmacists Day with this year’s theme -- Pharmacists Meeting Global Health Needs. 
The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony led by Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty, while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asadullah Madani, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhtar, faculty members, and students also joined in the celebration.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed highlighted the critical role pharmacists play in addressing global health challenges by providing health education, ensuring access to essential medicines, and supporting patient care.
The IUB Department of Pharmacy was established in 1990 and later expanded into a faculty. Located at the Khawaja Farid campus, the Faculty of Pharmacy now comprises six departments: Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Practice, Pharmacognosy, and Pharmacy.
