NICVD sans hygiene

Karachi: National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) the premier cardiac hospital with a daily OPD of 100s of patients has unhygienic conditions all around it with leaking sewage water posing serious threats to the health of patients, attendants and staff working there.

Visit to the hospital shows continuously leaking sewage water at the main entrance of the hospital which now is a serious hygiene issue for public. The stagnant sewerage water outside the entrance gate of NICVD has is not only causing inconvenience for patients, attendant, staff and commuters from last several days but is also a serious hygiene concern.

The leakage is a result of the water supply pipeline from the nearby residential area burst recently which caused overflow from gutters and cantonment board has not been able to fix it even after a passage of one week.
