KARACHI: The Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan Karachi, along with the third International Conference of Pediatric ophthalmology has initiated the International Ophthalmology Conference 2021 in Karachi.
The scientific conference aims to update doctors’ knowledge and skills, especially young doctors, through academic and scientific presentations, symposia, instructional courses, and workshops. Which ultimately reflects on patients’ benefit with the latest quality health care.
Conference Workshops will start from 26th November with scientific workshops at PMA by Hashmani Hospital and Patel Hospital.
In the evening, there will be a Plenary Session with International speakers on a virtual platform to talk about disease of premature babies ROP, Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
During back-to-back sessions, renowned ophthalmologists will give insight on scientific papers, research studies, sessions, and lectures on the latest advancements in ophthalmology. It will be an excellent opportunity for young ophthalmologists to enhance their skills and knowledge.
In total, 24 Interactive Courses and 29 symposiums will be held during the entire event, covering all aspects of ophthalmology. Ten renowned speakers from overseas and 100 national speakers will share their experiences, knowledge and skills.
The attached subspecialty 3rd International Conference of Association of Pediatric ophthalmology of Pakistan will also be held.
Hands-on training wet-lab will provide an excellent opportunity for the young ophthalmologist to polish their surgical skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.
Scientific Exhibition; a grand scientific exhibition will also be held wherein leading ophthalmic pharmaceuticals and allied industries will display ophthalmological equipment and Instruments.
Due to the pandemic this year, the congress will be held with strict compliance of SOPs, vaccinated in-person participation, and a virtual meeting platform on Zoom and a live streaming facility.
“We are also organizing discussions and community awareness programs on different issues like Prevention of Blindness, Eye Banking and Eye Donation Movement. All these awareness programs are organized to educate the masses, so media becomes very important to disseminate these messages as a community service,” said Dr Qazi Wasiq, President of Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan (OSP) Karachi & chairman of the organizing committee.
