KARACHI: Dr Ahson Qavi Siddiqui, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC), called a meeting of the province's few significant clinical laboratories owners/management.
Dr Iftekhar Khawja, CEO of Sindh lab, Khwaja Noman from Sindh lab, Commander Asghar and Dr Erum Khadija from Essa laboratory, Ali Sattar from the Chugtai lab, Prof Dr Rafique Khanani from City/ Advance lab, Prof Amir Mirza from Karachi lab and diagnostic centre attended the meeting.
The objective of the meeting was to discuss the Sindh Service Delivery Standards of the clinical laboratories, their implementation and the way forward of starting the process for inspection and licensing in the next two months.
The expert pathologists showed their concern about the commission's approach for the sealing and opening of laboratories in peripheral areas of Sind.
The SHCC CEO and his team of clinical governance dept explained to them the mandate of the act and standard procedure adopted for any substandard practices. In the meeting, it was also mutually agreed that the concerned body of the pathologists would provide names of the panel of experts in all divisions of Sindh to support the licensing and antiquackery teams for their drives in the province.
The team of pathologists agreed and showed their desire to provide their services accessible to the masses /public after completing the licensing process. They also pledge to comply with the Service Delivery Standards of Commission after licensing. The SHCC CEO extended his gratitude for their willingness and support for better quality diagnostic service provision in the province according to the standards set by the commission.
