KARACHI- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said here that the provincial government had released over Rs1.9 billion for up-gradation of KMC hospitals, repair and maintenance of important roads as well as for cleanliness of Gujjar Nullah.
Talking to newsmen during his visit to Sobhraj Maternity Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the CM said that he had also provided funds the disposal of garbage from various parts of the city.
The CM, who was accompanied with Sindh Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro, Secretary Health Narejo and Commissioner Karachi Asif Hyder Shah, also visited Gujjar Nullah to inspect its cleaning work.
Expressing his satisfaction over the setting up of heatstroke care centers, he hoped that the measures taken by the city’s district administrations, KMC, DMCs and Health department to cope with effects of searing heat would protect life of innocent citizens.
Talking about K-Electric, the CM said that he had personally requested prime minister to direct Water & Power Ministry to reduce the duration of load-shedding in Karachi and rest of the province.
He, however, deplored that load-shedding was continuously being resorted to in the metropolis and other parts of the province in the current hot and humid weather.
