Ayesha Raza Farooq appointed PM’s polio focal person

ISLAMABAD: Ayesha Raza Farooq has been appointed as Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's focal person for anti-polio initiatives by the federal government. 
Sources indicate that her honorary appointment was made on the instructions of the prime minister.
Ms Farooq will inform the prime minister about the government's anti-polio efforts and will also chair meetings of the National Polio Steering Committee. She will also supervise the anti-polio campaign and lead the task force formed for this purpose, making recommendations for the implementation of the Polio Action Plan.
In addition, Ms Farooq will coordinate with international anti-polio partners and communicate with international donors, representing Pakistan on the global stage regarding polio eradication efforts.
