WASHINGTON DC: The US Supreme Court reversed the Roe v Wade judgement and banned abortion.
After the Supreme Court overturned its 50-year-old Roe v Wade judgement, millions of women in the United States would not be able to opt for abortion.
Abortion Banned in 13 States of US
As a result of the ruling, individual governments now have the option of outlawing the surgery.
New limitations or prohibitions might be implemented by half of the states. So-called "trigger" legislation has already been enacted in 13 states.
President Joe Biden called it a tragic mistake and urged states to pass laws that would let it happen. Planned Parenthood, a health care organisation that offers abortions, says that after the Supreme Court's decision, about 36 million women of childbearing age may no longer be able to get an abortion.
