KARACHI- Pakistan Medical Association (PMA Centre) expresses their deep concerns over the death of a 10-year old girl in Karachi, due to a kite string that slit her neck, while she was riding on the bike with her father.

Post incident, the ambulance that was carrying her to the hospital got stuck, due to road blockage caused by an illegal cattle and bird market.

PMA believes that, immediate action should be taken against the sale and manufacturing of this deadly string.

Also, they shed light on the practice of use of roads for rallies, processions, sit-ins and illegal market blockages, all over Pakistan, causing immense misery for people, particularly for the health care providers, ambulances and the ailing people.

Since Eid-ul-Azha is around the corner, strategies should be chalked out to minimize the placement of illegal cattle markets within the cities of Pakistan, to avoid any unpleasant incident.

PMA has requested the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take action against these practices and have urged the Government officials to help overcoming such issues, to avoid any untoward incident.
