ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has recorded less than ten daily fatalities from the coronavirus for the second day in a row.
In the last 24 hours, six additional deaths were confirmed. Punjab confirmed two deaths, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded four. Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have not documented any Covid-related fatality, marking the fifth day of no Covid related deaths.
The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data shows that 42,096 tests were performed during the last 24 hours. The total positive cases rose to 1,269,806, with a death toll of 28,392 overall.
The positivity rate was documented as 1.35 per cent. Deaths, however, have hovered under the 50-mark since the start of this month.
The nationwide analysis is as follows: Sindh with 350 cases, Punjab with 136 cases and two deaths Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 34 cases and four deaths, Islamabad with 39 cases, Balochistan with eight cases, Gilgit-Baltistan with three cases and Azad Jammu and Kashmir capped at two cases.
