Two Mobile Health Units Gifted to JSMU By Alumni Members & APPNA

KARACHI- The Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent in North America (APPNA) and JSMU Alumni Association of North America (JSMU-AANA), recently gifted two mobile health units to the Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU).

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sindh, Syed Mumtaz Shah was invited as the honorable Chief Guest. He stated, "The government is trying to provide improved healthcare services to people of interior Sindh to reduce the pressure of patients from interior Sindh on Karachi institutions.”

He also requested other medical universities to come forward and help the government in alleviating health problems of Tharparkar and other underprivileged areas of Sindh.

The Vice Chancellor JSMU, Prof Tariq Rafi added that, providing education, affordable and quality healthcare services to the people is JSMU's vision and mission. Furthermore, he assured the Chief Secretary of his cooperation in making healthcare services accessible to people in Interior Sindh, and expressed his gratitude towards APPNA and JSMU-AANA for their support and cooperation.

Dr Akhtar Hamidi, Chairman Media Committee of APPNA, assured that Pakistani Physicians of North America will continue to give back to the country, in the form of expertise and financial assistance for projects of social value and importance to the country.

It was also revealed that alongside gifting 02 mobile health units to JSMU, APPNA presented 01 mobile health unit to Mohammad Medical College Mirpur Khas, and 01 to Bilquees Foundation.

Coordinator Program, Dr Rahat Naz informed the media that the mobile health units will be used to serve underprivileged communities.
