KARACHI- Sindh health department has directed heads of public sector hospitals to establish gastro wards in their respective institutions so as to provide best possible treatment to diarrhoea and gastro patients free of cost.
A decision to this effect was taken by Sindh Secretary (Health) Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo in the wake of increasing cases of diarrhoea across the province.
Lauding the health secretary’s decision of setting up gastro wards in government hospitals, Director (Health), Karachi, Dr Zafar Ejaz, said that senior doctors, skilled nurses and paramedical staff will be made available at the gastro wards to overcome the incidence of diarrhoea in the metropolis as well as across the province.
