MITHI: The distribution of health cards in the Tharparkar district has begun as in the first phase. These cards have been distributed among the people of Mithi town.
Under this facility, a family can seek treatment worth Rs300000 for Hepatitis B and C, lungs dialysis, heart ailments, diabetes, neurosurgery, burn injuries, and accidents at designated hospitals.
The information concerning health cards can be sought by sending an SMS to 8500.
It may be noted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had approved the provision of health cards to the people of Tharparkar.
According to officials, at least 300000 families of the Tharparkar district will get benefit from the health cards announced by the Prime Minister.
Khan had announced in March that a health package for the residents of Tharparkar under the 'Insaf Health Card’ scheme, which was believed to benefit more than 100000 families residing in the drought-stricken region.
PM Khan had made this announcement during an address in Chachro. Imran Khan said he chose Tharparkar for his visit as it is the least developed area of the country.
