Karachi Holds Peaceful Polling During General Elections’ 18

KARACHI- The polling process in Karachi for 21 National and 43 Provincial assembly seats was peaceful, under tight security provision, resulting in zero incidents of violence, all across the city during polling time.


Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Dr. Ruth Pfau, Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Lyari General Hospital and other health facilities, didn’t report any unlikely incidents, during the polling timings, which started from 8:00am and continued till 6:00pm, without any break.


Additional Medical Superintendent, Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK), Dr. Arif Niaz, and Executive Director, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Dr. Seemin Jamali confirmed that, no injured people were brought to their health facilities from any part of the city and the election process was concluded peacefully.


Senior Director, Medical and Health Services, KMC, Dr. Birbal Genani, stated that all KMC hospitals, including Abbasi Shaheed Hospital were put on high alert from July 24th to July 26th, 2018 to cater possible emergency like situations during General Election’2018 in Karachi, in spite of acute shortage of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff due to electoral duties.
