KARACHI: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) launched its annual Sports Week, Endynamo 7.0, at the UBL Sports Complex featuring a variety of competitions, including cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and athletics.
The sports week was organized by the JSMU Student Council, in collaboration with the Sports Society.
The event began with recitation of Quranic verses and Hadith, followed by national anthem and a symbolic flame lighting ceremony.
The traditional torch was carried by members of the JSMU Student Council, including General Secretary Moayed Amir, Head of Sports Society Bilal Asif, Deputy Head of Sports Society Ukasha Rehmat, and Joint Secretary SMC Qazi Mustafa Ali. It was handed over to the JSMU Student Council President Afeefa Siddiqui and distinguished guests who lit the flame.
Souvenirs were presented to organizers and guests as tokens of appreciation.
In his address on the occasion JSMU Vice Chancellor Prof Amjad Siraj Memon said, “Students are the future of our nation, and it’s essential to prepare them to face the global challenge. Sports activities are vital as they promote physical fitness and contribute to the overall growth of the country.”
JSMU Registrar Dr Azam Khan said the university has been consistently organizing sports activities to ensure a balanced development for its students.
The registrar, along with SMC Principal Prof Dr. Syed Masroor Ahmed, In charge QEC Dr. Wahid Usmani, and Chairperson of JSMU Student Council Prof Dr. Kefi Iqbal, played the opening shots to officially start the events.
