RAWALPINDI: Mother of a newborn girl who died at the Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, has alleged doctor’s negligence.
She said that her daughter, born two days ago at the hospital, died after falling from the hands of a female doctor, alleging that the hospital staff attempted to downplay the incident, demanding action against the responsible doctor.
An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate allegations of negligence at a local hospital following a tragic incident recently. The incident, which resulted in the death of an infant girl, has prompted a formal investigation into the actions of the hospital staff involved.
According to reports, the infant fell to the ground in front of her mother, Amina Bibi, and passed away immediately. Eyewitnesses claim that the nurse present at the scene placed the deceased child on a bench and left the room without taking further action.
Amina Bibi subsequently filed a complaint with Dr. Ijaz Butt, the Medical Superintendent (MS) of the hospital, alleging negligence by the nurse. In response, Dr. Butt has established an inquiry committee to thoroughly investigate the case. The committee, which includes Dr. Farooq Kasana, Dr. Nadeem Malik, and Professor Khansa, is expected to submit its findings by Monday.
Dr. Butt assured the family that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible for the negligence. He confirmed to the media that a comprehensive inquiry is underway to determine the facts surrounding the incident.
Sources indicate that Amina Bibi had visited the hospital on August 19 for a check-up, during which an ultrasound revealed decreasing amniotic fluid levels. She was admitted for further observation but claims that no additional medical check-ups or treatment were provided despite her repeated requests.
The infant’s father, Zahoorur Rehman, has expressed deep frustration over the loss of his child. He has criticized the hospital administration for failing to take timely action or inform him about the incident. Rehman is calling for justice and accountability for the alleged negligence that led to the death of their newborn daughter.
