Additionally, four sewage samples from Kohat have tested positive for poliovirus, indicating its continued presence in the region.
In total, Pakistan has recorded 40 polio cases in 2024. Of these, two new cases were recently reported on October 19 in the Sanghar and Mirpurkhas districts of Sindh.
