LAHORE: In the past 24 hours, Punjab reported 129 new cases of dengue, as announced on Thursday.
The Punjab Health Department revealed that Rawalpindi recorded the highest number with 107 cases, followed by 10 in Lahore. Other districts, including Faisalabad, Chakwal, Sialkot, and Rahimyar Khan, each reported two cases, while Attock, Sargodha, Khushab, and Gujrat recorded one case each.
In total, 779 new cases have been identified over the last week, bringing the cumulative number of dengue cases in Punjab to 4,657 for the year 2024.
Authorities reassured the public that necessary precautions are in place, with an ample supply of medication available in all public hospitals. In light of the rising cases, a public advisory has been issued, urging citizens to maintain clean and dry environments to help prevent the spread of the virus.
