Dr Waris Jakhrani said that doctors and other medical staff are working on the front line in the war against COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in Pakistan. Their lives are at risk due to the shortage of PPEs and injections used in corona patients' treatment.
He informed that corona cases and their related deaths had increased in the Sindh province, particularly in Karachi; therefore, the concerned authorities should ensure the provision of safety kits and drugs used to treat corona patients in corona treatment centres.
Dr Jakhrani said so many doctors and other medical staff had fallen prey to the deadly virus because of the unavailability of PPEs in health facilities. He requested the concerned provincial authorities to provide PPEs to protect doctors, nurses, and paramedics.
He demanded the high ups of the Sindh government to ensure the supply of PPEs in tertiary care hospitals, district health quarters, health facilities, and corona treatment centres on an urgent basis.
