NICH employees boycott OPD services

KARACHI - Employees of National Institute of Child Health (NICH) staged a protest demonstration and also boycotted the ODP service to express their anger over maltreatment of a staff member on Wednesday allegedly at the hands of some students.

Sources said that as soon as the news of the incident in which an employee of the NICH, Azhar Hafiz, was badly injured, spread in the hospital, employees immediately shut down the medical and surgical OPDs.

The protesting employees, however, resumed their duties and re-opened the medical and surgical OPDs after the health facility’s director Prof Dr Jamal Raza assured them that the culprits involved in the incident would be taken to task.
