MN Report

KARACHI- Male students of Sindh Government Liaquatabad Hospital’s School of Nursing have not been receiving their monthly stipend for the last three years.

Sources in the Schools of Nursing claimed that although the government had been releasing funds under the head of nursing students’ stipend, around 50 third-year male nursing students have not got stipend during last three years.

“Sindh government had announced Rs6,750 monthly stipend for each male nursing student, but the students have been deprived of their stipends for the reasons best known to authorities concerned,” they added.

The regretted that the affected students had brought the issue into the notice of Nursing School’s management several times, but the administration seems least interested in resolving the lingering issue.

Principal of the School of Nursing Enyatullah Khokhar when contacted said that third-year students have not yet opened their bank account.

She claimed that first and second-year students have been getting their stipend regularly as they have opened their bank accounts.
