NICH elevator out of order

KARACHI - An elevator of National Institute of Child Hospital (NICH) has been lying out of order for the last two weeks, causing immense hardships to the visiting patients as well as those requiring shifting from one ward to another.

Sources said that although the elevator had developed some technical fault about two weeks back, the management of the hospital has not yet been able to get the fault rectified. 

Volunteers and attendants of patients are the worst sufferers due to faulty elevator as they have been facing difficulties in shifting patients from one ward to another located on different floors of the hospital. A number of patients are shifted from emergency department to different wards daily by volunteers and attendants, they added.     

NICH executive director Dr Jamal Raza was not available for comments.
