LAHORE: Federal Health Minister Nadeem Jan in a recent meeting with Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman apprised him of the initiatives being taken in the health sector in the province.
During the meeting held at the Governor House in Lahore Mr Rehman commended the minister for his contributions to the health sector and suggested system reforms, particularly in response to the past misuse of health cards.
The governor underscored the significance of alternative medicine and called for providing basic health facilities to the people.
He urged the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to prioritize cleanliness in medical colleges, hospitals, and student hostels.
Mr Jan apprised the governor of steps being taken to promote a strategy to locally produce essential medicinal ingredients in Pakistan.
Subsequently, at the 19th Convocation of Lahore College for Women University, Governor Rehman encouraged students to cultivate a thirst for knowledge, saying that true success lies in one's character, ensuring success in both life and the hereafter.
He urged students to embody qualities such as truthfulness, honesty, and tolerance, emphasizing the importance of gratitude towards parents and teachers for their pivotal roles in shaping their lives.
