LAHORE- A 700 bed hospital, one of the biggest health institution of Lahore city - Sheikh Zaid Hospital, has been running without its chairman due to which patients and hospital staffers are facing numerous challenges.
Sources confided that former chairman - Prof. Zafar Iqbal had retired on June 26, 2014, since then the hospital affairs are being run on adhoc basis. The patients and the hospital staffers are suffering with hardships as
the acting chairman Prof. Nauman doesn't have the authority to decide some major operational matters and resolve the issues.
As the retired Prof. Zafar Iqbal was also the Principal of the Sheikh Zaid Medical College, the post of the college principal is also vacant. However, the summery and credentials of three senior professors, including Prof. Nauman, have been moved to the Chief Minister secretariat for appointment as the new chairman.
