The SHCC Chairman Dr Tipu Sultan revealed that they had taken this action as per directions of the Sindh Chief Minister and Health Minister, who earlier met the family of the victim.
Commenting on the protest, Dr Tipu Sultan said that the employees were protesting against detention of the principal of the medical college affiliated with the hospital, Professor Rasheed and Prof Rizwan Azmi. They were taken away by the Sharea Faisal police without “any justification or reason”. However, subsequently, they were released, revealed the SHCC head.
A fine of Rs500000 was also imposed on the Darul Sehat Hospital by SHCC on account of medical negligence. The hospital's management was directed to send the accused staff to their regulatory council for disciplinary action.
The Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) committee recommended immediate suspension and termination of the untrained staff, as well as the termination of recruitment in-charge.
