QUETTA: A Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus patient succumbed to the virus while receiving treatment at a hospital in Quetta, bringing the death toll from the disease in Balochistan this year to nine.
According to the administration of Fatima Jinnah Hospital, 16-year-old Khan Muhammad, a resident of Quetta, was admitted in critical condition to the hospital's isolation ward a day ago. His condition worsened overnight, and he passed away early this morning.
The hospital administration reported that a total of 34 Congo virus patients have been treated at Fatima Jinnah Hospital this year.
