Sindh requests Punjab for medical assistance amid floods

KARACHI: Sindh Health Department requested Punjab to dispatch medical teams to treat the flood victims. 

The details indicate that the Sindh Health Department has sent a letter to the Punjab Health Secretary.

The Sindh Health Department noted in the letter that Sindh requires support from Punjab at this time, since Sindh is facing a severe shortage of doctors and paramedics, with ten districts of Sindh in serious need.

According to the letter, ten districts require paediatricians, gynaecologists, psychologists, and dermatologists, among other personnel, immediately.

According to the letter, 380 medical personnel are required, including experts in 10 districts of Sindh, 27 dermatologists, 27 paediatricians, 18 gynaecologists, and 18 psychologists.

The letter also stated that 45 male and 45 female doctors, 72 staff nurses, and 90 dispensers are required, since 3,841,492 people in 10 districts of Sindh are affected by flooding.

Sindh requires the services of physicians and paramedical personnel for various districts of Sindh province in order to respond to crises caused by torrential rainfall and flooding in the province.
